Are you looking to update your christmas tree with some new decorations and need some inspiration? Look no further! On my recent trip to London I picked up a few beautiful ornaments from some of my favourite places in London.
When I grew up we always had a huge tree with all kinds of different baubles and ornaments. I remember my mum adding a few to the collection every year and it would seem I have inherited the obsession. This means that each year I set out to find more tree decorations and I love how they create a little timeline of past christmas celebrations. I also try to buy one (or two if I can’t decide) when I’m traveling. This march for example I bought a pretty sparkly seashell on our trip to Hawaii.
But as I said, a few weeks ago I went to London to visit my brother and sister and naturally I came home with a box full of ornaments. I can of course get ornaments i Sweden but I must say the brits know their tree decorations. There are so many options and you can find some really nice ones and they cont cost you a fortune. Take this winter palace one I got from John Lewis that was £12. An ornament like that would have cost me much more here in Sweden.
Now let’s get to the actual haul part. My go to places for ornaments in London are Liberty and more recently, John Lewis. It so happens that all six of these decorations come from one of these stores. From Liberty I got the white bauble with little dots and snowdrops on and the little bird in the same style. I was a bit disappointed with the selection at Liberty this year but it might be because John Lewis were killing it. I originally went there to pick up this brussels sprouts bauble I had found online. I mean it was the perfect ornament combining two of my great passions, christmas tree decorations and brussels sprouts, so I had to have it. Anyhow once in the christmas section in John Lewis I faun ornament after ornament and they all looked sooo beautiful. I could easily have walked out of there with ten more but I managed to practice some restraint. Apart from the sprout I bought a santa moon, these grapes and the magical £12 winter castle.
I hope you enjoyed this post and that you will excuse the amount of times I’ve written ornament or bauble in it. I am now going to avoid using those words for at least another year. I would love to know what traditions you have when it comes to decorating the christmas tree! Tell me in the comments below.
