I recently bought some pink dried flowers for a cake I was making. I only used a tiny bit so I wanted to come up with another project where I could use them. Since Valentines day is only a week away I figured a rosy floral cocktail was in order.
The Rose Gin Sour
This fragrant cocktail is slightly sweeter than the original whiskey sour. I have switched up the lemon juice for some lovely blush coloured grapefruit juice and topped it off with a few drops of rose water.
To shake up a glass of this floral concoction you will need the following:
- 50ml Gin
- 30ml Pink grapefruit juice
- 10ml Simple syrup
- 3-5 drops of Rose water
- Dried flower petals for garnish
Pour the gin, grapefruit juice and simple syrup into a shaker with ice and shake until the outside gets frosty. Pour into a champagne coupe, add a few drops of rosewater and a pinch of flower petals. If you want to make it non alcoholic just leave out the gin and add some sparkling water once you’ve poured it into your glass.
Enjoy as a pre or post dinner cocktail with loved ones, friends or by yourself, preferably in the tub with some nice snacks.
